The gains we have are considerable – my grandmothers would not recognise the lives and choices that my daughters have.
But the gains are not secure and we must be ever vigilant.
While there is a lot of talk about violence it is not really an outcry – that’s what you get in response to war or to terror attacks. There remains much to be done.
